I, Sarhat Petrossian have started photographing in 1997 with the trainings organized by photographer Herman Avagian. 

From the spring of 1998 I have participated the photojournalism trainings of Zaven Khachikian sponsored by “Open Society Institute” (Soros Foundation). I have graduated it in September.  

2 years later I have attended the classes of the same photographer this time sponsored by “Eurasia Fund.”  

From 1998 my photographs have been published in “Yerkrahap” weekly, “Yerkir” daily (now weekly), ‘Hayatsk Yerevanits’ magazine, “Gaydzer” magazine (published in Lebanon) and in www.armeniadiaspora.com .

I have never participated in any exhibition believing that I have not reached that stage yet. The only time was in 2000 when I presented only one photograph in the exhibition of young photographer organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs as a sign of graduation of the second photojournalism classes.  

In the same year two of my photographs have been put on www.photoactif.am. Later my photographs have been also used in the websites prepared by the UN Office in Armenia on www.forum.am and www.masis.am. 

The already existing website of iatp.r.am/grants/neoarch which now have downloaded.

Currently my photo archive is consisted of around 300 black-and-white and color photographs. Part of it is digitalized. The rest will be completed too. The work is in process by digitalizing.
